Best of Artomatic 2009

Out of the thousands of participants in Artomatic 2010, Eric Celarier was featured as one of nine artists identified as the Best of Artomatic by DC Art Scene.

Says DC Art Scene - June 14, 2009

“Eric Celarier sews small computer parts and circuit boards together to create intricate quilts. His overall design gives the illusion of an aerial perspective of a highly organized and structured city; however, the details of his stitching provide evidence of a human presence in the quilt. By sewing the metal parts on the fabric, Celarier renders the quilt useless in the functional sense, but calls attention to his choice of often disposed and overlooked material.”

James Renwick Alliance Award 2009

The James Renwick Alliance (JRA) is an independent national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing scholarship and education on contemporary American craft, to supporting activities directed toward this purpose, and to encouraging connoisseurship and collecting. To this end, the JRA, along with others, sponsored Artomatic in order to connect with young collectors and emerging artists.

To promote artists of excellence, JRA juried the show to identify six artists of distinction. Over the thousands of participants, Eric Celarier won the prize for mixed media.

FLIK Interactive 2008

Eric Celarier was invited to participate in a juried competition by Art Outlet exhibited at Art Whino in National Harbor. Two pieces were selected and exhibited to great praise.
